FAQ
The questions people ask before they get in touch.
If yours isn't here, ask it on a free 20-minute call. You'll get a straight answer, including when the answer is that I'm not the right fit.
- Why “Player Two”?
- Player Two was whoever picked up the second controller and helped you get past the level you were stuck on. That's the job: I join your team, take on the work you're stuck on, and leave you in a stronger position than I found you.
- Do I need to be technical?
- No. You describe the work in plain language — who does it, how often, and which systems it touches — and I handle the rest. Every handoff comes with documentation written for the people who'll use it, not for engineers. If you'd rather learn to do it yourself, Build-With-You exists for exactly that.
- Which platform will you use?
- Whichever fits your constraints: n8n, Make, or Zapier. If you already pay for one, we usually start there. If your data can't leave your environment for compliance reasons, self-hosted n8n does that and Zapier cannot. And sometimes the answer isn't an automation platform at all: a Claude Project with skills, a custom GPT or a Gemini Gem can handle it inside the AI tool your team already uses. Everything runs in your accounts, so subscriptions are billed to you directly.
- Who owns what you build?
- You do. It runs in your accounts, on your infrastructure, and it's documented well enough that someone else could maintain it. Nothing depends on me having a password you don't.
- What happens when something breaks?
- Everything I build is designed to fail loudly: errors raise an alert instead of failing silently. If you're on Player Two or Automation Care, fixing it is my job. If you're not, I'll fix it at the ad-hoc rate of $185 an hour.
- Is it safe to let automation touch our systems?
- Yes, when it's built to know its limits. Routine work runs on its own. Changes that carry real risk, like removing access or touching financial records, can run as a dry run first, reporting what they would do, and wait for someone to approve. You decide where that line sits, every run is logged, and I ask for the narrowest access the work needs.
- What are AI agents, and do I need them?
- An AI agent is the part of an automation that can read and decide: sorting inbound email, pulling details out of documents, drafting replies, choosing where a request goes. It takes on the steps that used to need a person reading, and it hands off to someone only when a case is unusual or high-stakes. Not every process needs one; plenty are better as a simple automation, and I'll tell you which.
- Which AI tools do you train on?
- Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot. I train your team on the one you already pay for, using a session built around your company and the work your people actually do. Training is remote, or in person in Detroit or Chicago. If it's just you, Tutorial Level is 90 minutes one-on-one for $200, remote, and you can book it online.
- Do you work outside metro Detroit?
- Automation, yes — it's delivered remotely, anywhere in the US. Managed IT is metro Detroit only, because some of it has to happen in person.
- How do we get started?
- Book a free 20-minute call. I'll give you an honest read on whether it's worth automating, and if it is, you get a fixed price in writing — one page, one number, one scope.
